In Memory of Rob Babione
Rob was one of the founding fathers of Curtain Call Theatre and continued to be an active member of our Board of Directors until his death. Rob also acted in many of our productions.
Rob was a founding member of the New Prague Arts Council and remained an active member of that organization. He was very active in his church and sang in the church choir. He also loved playing cards.
Curtain Call Theatre presented the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) "Spotlight Award" to Rob at a special presentaion that took place before the Saturday, August 3, 2013 performance of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee". The AACT "Spotlight Award" recognizes special achievement in service to local community theatres. Past AACT President Bill Muchow, past Region V Representative Donna Norberg and past Minnesota Association of Community Theatres President Larry Pint were on hand for the presentation. Bill spoke about the reason AACT created the award and the qualifications for the award. Donna read portions of the application that talked about Rob. Lori Sanborn, President of Curtain Call Theatre, presented the award to Daisy Babione, Robs wife. Tyrone Babione, Rob and Daisys son, read a tribute to his father.
In remembrance of Rob, Curtain Call Theatre has named our annual scholarship for graduating High School seniors the "Robert Babione Memorial Scholarship".
