Curtain Call Theatre
Board of Directors' Meeting
Feb. 10, 2008
Present: Garie Teig, Laura Velishek, Andy Velishek, Kathy Heyda, Bill Wencl, Dave Tuma, Larry Pint, Rob Babione, and Daisy Babione.
Meeting called to order at 7:44 PM by Andy Velishek.
Secretary Report: Laura Velishek and Andy Velishek are to be added to the list of people present. MSP Dave/Garie
Treasurer Report: Starting Balance of $18,521.80 plus income for 2008 of $75.00 minus expenses for 2008 of $1,045.40 equaled $17,551.40 plus $4,521.00 in savings, giving us an ending balance of $22,072.40. MSP Larry/Dave
The missing ~$3000 is back into our account. Since it was stated as a transfer, it was most likely that they didn’t find the deposit, but transferred the money from their funds to ours.
Bills: $150 for NP Chamber (yearly due)
$460 for the Website
$40 Czech Expo
Publicity Reports:
Discussion was brought up about season brochures. It was decided that we would produce 1,000 brochures.
An idea of handing out specialized pencils was discussed. It was decided that we would have red pencils with black writing (MSP Dave/Laura), stating “Czech out our shows at www.curtaincalltheatre.net” They run about 400 or 500 for $1,000. (MSP Dave/Rob)
A comment was made about needing to finalize the dates and prices for shows.
Annie Get Your Gun dates: July 11th, 12th, 18th, & 19th @ 7:30 PM and July 30th at 2 PM
(MSP Rob/Kathy)
Discussion was also held about having to do only music and dance for the first couple weeks, cause of other events being held in the HS.
Discussion about July 4th weekend interference was discussed. Although, since it is on a Friday this year, we figure it will not have much impact on rehearsals all that week, since they most likely will be M-TH.
Little Princess dates: Oct 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 7:30 PM. (MSP Dave/Daisy)
Discussion about MEA weekend being on the 17th and 18th, but it did not interfere with the final decision being to have the show on that weekend.
If it’s Monday, This Must Be Murder dates: Feb 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th at 6:15 PM for the Dinner and 7:30 PM for the show. (MSP Garie/Larry)
Pricing:
(Dinner Theatre) It is currently $23.00, but costs are expected to go up. Dinner Theatre will now be $25.00. (MSP Kathy/Garie)
(Season Tickets) They will stay at $40.00. More people may buy the season tickets if they have a greater savings over buying all separate.
Memorandum dates: March 15th at 7:30 PM and March 16th at 2 PM.
Season Posters are ready to go, as is the website.
Properties: Nothing to Report
Sets: The sets are almost done. Kitchen still needs a couple stainless steel pots and pans
Membership: Nothing to Report
Keep in mind the hot prospects
Costumes: Nothing to Report
Play Selection: MTI has four new plays for young audiences (Frog and Toad, Sweeny Todd, Rent and Will Wonka) Frog and Toad has nice music, and Children’s Theatre has costumes for it, because they recently did it.
Rights for Annie Get Your Gun still need to be obtained.
Summer 09, still need to select show for this. We will need these to be set by Summer 08.
Old Business:
Laura, Dave and Larry are working on the Rental Agreement.
We still need to talk to the potential members we brought up in the last meeting.
Wade mentioned that if he would be a member, TH would be best for him to meet.
Sarah Crone is possibly moving back to Monty.
Kathy emailed Dennis Lambracht.
Flaming Idiots is going really well. We still need to talk it up, since we are a little slow on the ticket sales.
Website: It is looking good, still a lot of work to be done though. Larry has sent out basic edit information to a couple people. The Secretary will take over updating the website when Larry leaves promotion committee. Production Coordinator may help out the Secretary.
501(C)3: Arts and Heritage is reapplying for this as well. Have been pretty busy, but will check it out. We want to have this rolling by our new year.
Annie Get Your Gun: Karina Janovsky-Nelson as director (MSP Daisy/Garie.) She will not be doing choreography. We have yet to find a choreographer, music director, or Orchestra Director for Annie Get Your Gun. Possibilities are Jeremy Gibbs wife (Andrea?) or Kris Hindersheid for choreography, Dennis for Orchestra, Scott for Vocal, and if need be, Kathy Heyda for Piano accompaniment.
New Business:
Dates for upcoming events: March 1st, Lonsdale Showcase at R&L woodcraft bldg from 11-3, Dave will be using the projection; March 30th, Czech Expo.
Ushers are needed for the memorandum on March 15th and 16th.
Dates are set for new shows (see publicity reports) and Larry is now heading to the play selection committee.
Next Meeting: March 9, 2008 7 PM at St John’s church.
Motion to adjourn at 9:13 PM. MSP Daisy/Rob
Respectively submitted by Laura Velishek, Secretary.
